The Lemfi Card Feature is a cross-border spending card solution that allows users to access and spend their money directly from the app, locally and globally. Lemfi is a financial technology company serving the global diaspora, offering remittance, savings, and multi-currency accounts. The card was designed to close the gap between moving money and spending it.

I worked with Lemfi team to design the end-to-end card experience, from physical card and packaging through to the in-app card management flow, design system, and verified and unverified onboarding journeys.

The card experience balances a premium, minimalist aesthetic with subtle nods to Lemfi's global and inclusive brand. The physical card uses high-quality materials and a clean layout. The virtual in-app counterpart mirrors that identity across card creation, management, funding, locking, and transaction history — all consistent with the Degular type system and Lemfi's green-led brand palette.

Challenges

Sending money back home when you live in London. You have to enter your UK bank card details every single time. Trying to pay a friend back and finding out they needed to be on Lemfi too. Hitting a card limit error you didn't understand or can't resolve, shown before you're able to complete the transaction. Lemfi acquire RightCard to solve this problem. Ahmad led this project.
